Gotta Dance

I love partner dancing and vernacular jazz dance. I met my wife through dance. I forged some of my closest friendships through dance. It was not love at first sight, however. It was a romance that blossomed over time. I trace my disposition to dance to a youthful curiousity in musical theatre.

My mother has always loved musicials. As a child, I grew up listening to her cast albums and developed a fondness for them as well. When she was young my mother sang and danced in grade school and high school musicials. Naturally, I followed suit. From kindergarten through all four years of high school, I appeared in countless musicials. I took on singing roles and acting roles, but rarely any dancing roles. I just never pursued dancing like I pursued singing and acting.
