IBM makes personal computers, servers and mainframes as well as the monitors, computer chips, and other internal components within those computers. The company also makes other electronic devices, such printers and storage tape mechanisms, all of which contribute to its image as an electronics giant. However, IBM's business focus has shifted in recent years to more virtual pursuits. The maker of computers is also the developer of Web sites (e-businesses). IBM now hosts Web sites. It now sends consultants to companies both small and large to develop e-businesses. Through all these changes, one thing has remained constant: its logo. That's because the logo is good. The horizontal stripes running through its letters promote the idea of breadth and reach. They say: IBM is many things to many people.
