Bio:
Writing/Editing
I like writing about people and their pursuits. Right now, those people are performing artists. Previously, they were techies and technology executives. There is no reason why they could not be marketers, public employees or business executives. I have written about microchips and about the people, businesses and technologies behind the creation of microchips for the numbers crunchers who follow the field and the decision makers who define it. I have also written about arts and culture for both the people who create it and the people who enjoy it. I have written news items, feature stories and analysis pieces as well as marketing, promotions and advertising copy for several print and online publications where I have worked. I am up to taking on new challenges and switching gears or industries, when warranted.

Design
Though I am not a graphic designer by trade, I do enjoy designing logos and graphics. I am by no means an expert designer, but I have crafted a couple of successful logos. There is also something about conjuring catchphrases and summoning slogans for marketing/promotional materials that I like. I have done a fair amount of that work, too. When I was at Montage Magazine, I created much of the brochureware. Getting the word out about ActorsUpdate also required flyers and postcards with just the right mix of graphics and promotional grist.

Dance
My wife, Midori, and I teach dance at night at Sandra Cameron Dance Center. We also perform at festivals, special events and even weddings throughout the city. We love tap dance, lindy hop, blues and peabody. In our rehearsals of tap and lindy hop, we forged a new dance form that merges two American vernacular dances. We called this dance alloy, LindyHoofin'.
