Midori & Chad We teach and perform social dances of the 20th century, including lindy hop (swing), '20s charleston, blues, peabody, collegiate shag, big apple, tap and LindyHoofin, a partner tap dance we created together. We demonstrate these dances at venues throughout New York City, such as the Museum of the City of New York, the 92nd Street Y, and the Brooklyn Playhouse. We also run the swing program at Sandra Cameron Dance Center (SCDC) here in New York and host regular social dances in the city. Check out the flyers (below) for our next dances. We invite you to visit our dance section to learn more about us, the dances we perform, the classes teach and the events we host.
Chad's Writing & Design
I am journalist who enjoys developing websites and creating targeted email newsletters. I've written about technology, business and the arts for national and regional trade publications as well as arts and culture for local newspapers and magazines. I've led the creation of several websites, providing structure, direction and ideas for sites' designs and practices. I've designed roughly a dozen email newsletters as well as promotional materials, logos and graphics. For those with limited time, I've created an executive summary of myself, including how to reach me for freelance design, development and writing assignments (opportunities I am always interested in hearing about). It's all on my 411 page. To learn more about my writing, editing and design work, visit these respective pages. To read about some of my side projects, such as helping my grandmother' write her memoirs or my interest in preserving the theatre my great-grandfather built, follow the projects link here or on the navigation bar. You can even sneak a peek at my wife and my cat, Macavity, by visiting her portfolio of polaroids. (You might even notice her on a flyer I created for our December 13 swing dance.) So I encourage you to ease back in your chair and spend some time getting to know me, virtually speaking, of course.
