HARLEM BLUES & JAZZ BAND
PLUS YOUNG HOOFERS
HIGHLIGHT 92ND STREET Y DANCE

Saturday, April 10, 7pm-1am
92nd Street Y on Lexington Avenue at 92nd Street
Admission $15/$10 Students w/valid ID

Had enough of the cold? Experiencing a bad case of spring fever? On April 10, the 92nd Street Y proudly present an evening sure to send the winter blahs packing for good, Spring Fever - Rhythm Club, an evening of live music and dancing featuring the Harlem Blues & Jazzz Band and a rhythm tap performance by The Young Hoofers.

The evening begins at 7:00pm with a dance lesson covering the basics of swing and of Balboa, a fast, primarily closed-position dance developed on and named for an island off the coast of California. From 8:00pm to 1:00am, there will be dancing to live music performed by the Harlem Blues & Jazz Band, a 'national treasure' formed in 1973 by musicians who actually "jumped" at the Woodside and "stomped" at the Savoy, and to the sunniest of recorded swing music selected for their upbeat, uptempo, toe-tappin' rhythms.

At, 10:30pm, the Young Hoofers, a fantastic group of young rhythm tappers (Think "Noise/Funk": The Next Generation) will perform live with the band, fresh from their recent engagement at The Town Hall in February.

Doors open at 6:45pm on April 10, 2004. Admission is $15 ($10 for students with valid ID) and includes complimentary wine and cheese, light snacks, coffee and tea.
